Meet the teacher

Clement Rhein qualified from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Osteopathy and he undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PCGE HE) in 2016. He has been teaching osteopathy at the ESO and elsewhere since 2014.

Clement has been a natural teacher from a young age. Already at school, he quickly became a prefect, then a senior prefect and eventually a head of house, responsible for a quarter of the school’s pupils “in house” needs. With this responsibility came managing a team of school prefects responsible for several duties within the school, as well as being in charge of some school assemblies. He organised several school assemblies with other younger pupils and also delivered his own assembly in “free style” in front of the whole school, something not achieved before by a student, at the age of seventeen. Since then, Clement has enjoyed spreading a messages he feels passionate about to an audience of people.

When at university, Clement was the class representative for the whole four years, managing in-class issues, delegating appropriate responsibilities to class mates, managing and chairing class meetings as well as meetings with the faculty. He would hold large study and revision groups at this home most weeks and enjoyed explaining complicated topics into comprehensive terms to his class mates. He also organised a rotation within a small group of class mates to ensure consistent and varied practical practices throughout the degree.

To finance his studies, from the age of nineteen he worked as a language school director during most holiday periods, being in charge of managing a team of group leaders and large groups of foreign teenage students from early in the morning until late at night. Logistics, travels, coaches and drivers, entertainment bookings, lesson time table, resources management, meals, team meetings, human resources and much more were all on Clement’s daily tasks.

Clement ran several CPD events and courses since qualifying, including a visceral course with Caroline Stone in 2013. He joined the ESO teaching team in 2014 mostly involved in the visceral osteopathy team. Clement enjoyed studying osteopathy integration with Professor Jean-Marie Beuckels since 2014 and taught alongside him for several years. Prof. Beuckels’ extensive research in osteopathy and neurology was paramount to Clement’s understanding of causality based examination and how all tissues are integrated.

Clement went on to do a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCertHE) in 2016, providing him with up to date evidence based teaching resources which he enjoyed applying when working at the ESO. He was also class representative during his PGcert course. Clement has been called to osteopathy practices to mentor osteopaths in clinic supporting the integration of the causality principles within their osteopathic examination and treatment.

Over his years of being an osteopath, Clement has delivered countless of public lectures covering a wide range of health and well-being topics in reference to causal based logic, he has been a guest lecturer and panelist in alternative health care conferences, and has published several articles in a variety of media outlets.

Clement is a dedicated teacher, devoted to his student’s successful learning outcomes and keen to use all of his expertise to achieve an excellent integration of the causality based approach within an osteopath’s daily practice.
