About the courses

Musculoskelatal course

Confidently and reliably diagnose the biomechanical root cause and understand its compensatory pattern. This course covers the whole musculoskeletal system: lower limbs, upper limbs, cranio-facial and spinal. You will be able to explain the emergence of symptoms from a perspective rooted in osteopathic principles using biomechanical connections.

Duration

The course consists of eight practical days to be attended in person, divided into four weekends and runs over a whole year. There is an interval of approximately 3 months between each weekend course to allow practitioners to integrate the learning outcomes into their daily practice.

What to expect

  • Four practical weekends (lunch and refreshments included) throughout the course of one year – 12hrs CPD learning with others per weekend.
  • Online support with the teacher between weekend courses available.
  • Online weekly accountability meetings.
  • Online support forum.
  • Small group learning environment – max 10 students.

Fee

  • £200/weekend (Beta version price, reduced from £300)

So please, if you find this course amazing, recommend your colleagues and benefit from a £50 discount on your next weekend practical course.

Informations

What is the Beta version?

Year 2022 is the bright new start of this course design and is consequently offered as a Beta version. This means that practitioner’s feedback is of utmost importance and it will be required to feedback one’s experience in due course. The aim is to iron out any teething difficulties associated with the novelty of this course design for the benefit of subsequent courses. The price of each weekend course is consequently reduced from £300/weekend to £200/weekend.

What is an accountability group?

An accountability group supports it’s members to remain focused on chosen aims – in this case, integrate a cause based osteopathic examination in one’s own practice. It takes form as online meetings via Zoom, attended on a weekly basis providing a structure for peer to peer support, discuss challenges and patient cases, clarify principles and methodology etc. Ad hock online sessions with the teacher are organised if a particular topic is challenging across the group.

Location: Frome, Somerset, UK.

Prerequisite for applicants:

  • Must be a qualified osteopath.
  • Must be able to commit the time – attend the practical weekend courses and online weekly meetings.
  • Must have internet access for video chat (for accountability group meetings).
  • Able to implement novel elements of examination into one’s daily practice.
  • An inquisitive, critical and open mind is recommended.

Visceral course

Is it coming from the back or from the organ? That is the question!

Confidently and reliably diagnose the visceral causal lesion and its causal relationships to other organs, spinal segments and the rest of the musculoskeletal system. Understand the difference between the causal lesion and its compensatory pattern. This course covers the whole visceral system: Thoracic, abdominal and pelvic. You will be able to explain the emergence of the combination of visceral and MSK symptoms from a perspective rooted in osteopathic principles using biomechanical and neurological causal connections.

Duration: The course consists of eight practical days to be attended in person, divided into four weekends and runs over a whole year. There is an interval of approximately 3 months between each weekend course to allow practitioners to integrate the learning outcomes into their daily practice.
